Pastor Babij explains that, not only does the miracle vividly illustrate Jesus’ compassion, the miracle also figuratively portrays Jesus’ whole mission: Jesus came to show mercy to the helpless, to enable the spiritually deaf to understand and speak God’s truth, and to show forth His praiseworthy glory.
