This week in Sunday school, we continue looking at the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. In this lesson, we look at the Jewish and Gentile trials conducted to determine Jesus’ guilt and sentence. How evil were these trials? How did Jesus respond to the blatant injustice? Yet how was all unfolding exactly as Jesus and the prophets foretold and exactly as fallen man needed to be saved? We’ll consider these questions and more.
We look at multiple Gospel accounts as we piece together the timeline of Jesus’ trials. You can find these accounts in John 18:1-19:16, Matthew 26:36-27:26, Luke 22:39-23:25, and Mark 14:32-15:15.
